Allright, I'm gonna bump this to the top and add this very interesting oil filter study. I know it has been posted before, but I really don't care if your only goal in life is to waste a post saying "repost".

Go to the bottom and check out his oil filter overview link.

i use the pure one filter from the FC. i think the filter number is 14459. its actually the same filter used on v6 honda accords so there isn't ever a shortage at advance auto or pep boys.

I use the Mazda #JEYO 14 302 9A

Tri-Point put it on my car when they rebuilt my motor. I think it's off the 626.

I just got my RX-7 and am using K&N stock size filters, but also i have 2 Probe GTs (same as MX-6 LS) and im running a ZL1 Oil Filters there rediculously large. when i installed it i noticed a rise in oil pressure so not too sure what ur talking about with bigger filter = less pressure? has anyone tried this filter on a 7? (M1-207)

When I used a non-OEM filter (which didn't have the anti-drainback valve), my oil pressure was MUCH higher. Since that one time, I've always use the stock OEM filter.

That sucks. Fram is terrible. I am curious to know if any racing teams, rotary shops, or rebuilders use the bigger filters or stock size filters.
