Anyone running a DNA manual Boost Controller
I was going to go the Home Depot route and install it in the ashtray for convenience... this looked like a higher quality needle valve. Just wondering if anyone has used it?

sorry if thats not it, i tried

i thought about running my hd needle valves to the ashtray so i wouldn't have to pull over every time i wanted to change the pressure. but i think that by running hoses all the way to the ashtray would cause a greater pressure drop than by just keeping the valve inside the engine bay.

i use a hallman manual boost controller, should be pretty much the same thing, but i got mine shipped to my door for $50. check out www.boostcontrollers.com
Hey guys, many thanks for the links and info - good stuff!
My quest is to run stock boost levels on a budget.
What I am looking for is a "quality" needle valve.
I think the Home Depot valve is adequate, but when you are talking about an engine and turbos adequate (IMHO) does not cut it..........
OK, now the question is, how about the Hallman Evoution RX kit? It has the "ceramic ball" inside the needle valve which is supposed to allow for more precise control, which makes a lot of sense. It also includes a cable to modulate the valve from inside the cockpit, which as far as I'm concerned is absolutley a must. I guess this eliminates the question of pressure drop as suggested. (Which is a very valid point!)
It is listed here:www.boostcontrollers.com link courtesy of spoolin93R1!
The site says it is popular with RX7 owners!?
Nice to see some fresh ideas regarding boost control, as I quite frankly do not trust the electronic units.

i had that needle valve in my ashtray for awhile. all the extra hose seemed to delay full boost a bit so i put it back under the hood. find a valve that closes in very small incriments so you can fine tune it.
