Thumbs up My R1 is going through a bit of a metamorphosis....

By January she should be up and running with:

Kan-built and exhaust-ported motor (with help from Chris and I of course )

BNR stage 2 upgraded sequential twins with a few Top Secret goodies thrown in

Midpipe on and airpump/bonez high flow cat removed

All a/c crap gone

New engine wiring harness

Greddy oil temp and fuel pressure gauges

New 850cc injectors in the primaries

AFR pro mounted in the interior

Alternator rebuilt and polished

possibly remove p/s, and other minor engine bay stuff

Man, this is killing me.....hopefully I'll have her dynoed by the esteemed gentleman of Rotary Performance by mid jan, after Kan tunes me with my AFR Pro and our datalogit. Shooting for well over 400 streetable and safe wheel horsepower, with foot-long flames as an added bonus.....all V8s in central Texas beware .

Impressive. Got a couple of questions for you. 1) Did your current engine pop? 2) What size of secondaries? 3) How much boost do you plan on running?

Sorry just bored at work and a little nosey .

cha-CHING!! ba-da-a bing

and the total cost of all this joy is a grand total of?

ah.....the zero return investment of FD performance modifications

"how to invest your money wisely" it ain't....but I'm going through the same insanity...the need for adrenaline and an intense desire to spank bloated Mustangs will cost me 5 large after my motor bit it

Awesome man! My car is doing a metamorphosis as well in January.

I am shooting for 650 RWHP reliable. 850 RWHP and over 1K is on the high octane gas.

Neato cheato! I know the feeling of not having your car.

Mike is doing a 3 rotor in his 7. I hope your motor is dowel and has the special E-shaft. Otherwise, it won't hold more than 650ft_lbs of torque or 15psi of boost pressure (that's what i was told).....

He's talking Hamster Power.

1000 rwh(a)p = 500 rwhp.

The hamsters have been fed steroids and sour starbursts so that 2 of them are as strong as one horse.

There, the secret is out.

Steve-

Yep, all of the good stuff. We are doing a little bit more than the regular pinning.

Its overkill. But, needless to say, I can say the car can do it!

It will be great to have your car running again. Its always a sad deal when the car is dead.

Rich, you didn't lose a motor did you?
You know you won't make anywhere near as much power without my airpump on there!!!
Good luck, can't wait to see how she turns out.
Really looking for some good info on the turbos as well.

1000rwhp? Holy Smokes! I knew you planned a single turbo 3 rotor but I didn't know you were shooting for 1krwhp mark.

Goodfella, glad to see your car's getting all kinds of good ****. The car's super sweet so it deserves it. BTW, why the new wiring harness? Does the car need one or just preventitive maintnance? (I know you picked one up for cheap a while back)

Good memory. It's sitting in my closet, so I figure I had might as well install it while the motor is out. No problems with mine thus far, but if I can prevent future problems by installing the new one then I figure I had might as well go ahead.

Yeah, the power of boost!

I will have video's showing the dyno runs, for the various values.

What you should see are the following:

1st dyno run : over 1000 @ the wheels
2nd dyno run: over 850 @ the wheels
3rd dyno run: over 600 @ the wheels (hoping for 650)
4th dyno run: over 500 @ the wheels.

I will run the car (most of the time) on the last two boost settings. I doubt I will ever have the car running on either the first two.

It brings into lots of other things that could break.

LOL.....last time when I dyno my car and notice that the dyno # goes down gradually, I ended up melting my E-shaft and stationary gear..... I think you meant the other way around.... 500rwhp 1st run...etc

Well.. Yeah.

What will be neato, is that everyone can watch the video from the car too!

But, it will be crazy trying to get traction. I need some of Ari's special axles.

Oh well. We will see! Power baby..
