Question Anyone got new window seals before?

Well i noticed that my seals all around the car are getting flakey and stretched, I think its from the time i got my car painted they had to lift up all the seals. So my question is has anyone replaced their seals on the windshield and other etc.?

Yeah I have and it's expensive for new seals from Mazda even w/ Ray Crow's discount.

You're talking the rubber seals right? Not the metal things at the base of the window?

I just changed mine because the glass had to be taken out while I resprayed my car.

The guys used Ford(Uk) Transit gasket. He said its quite a simple gasket and you should be able to find something which will do the job.

Just ask a windscreen shop what they can do

If your talking about the gasket that just goes around the windshield and rear hatch IIRC they are about $70 ea from Mazda.

Aftermarket universal fit stuff should be very cheap and serve the same function, it won't look nearly as nice IMHO. I bought new stuff from Mazda when I had the windows put in my CYM.

The rubber covered metal trim that goes around the bottom of the side window on the door (AKA beltline molding) is about $109 from the dealer. I don't remember if that was before or after a discount.

The one that I gagged on was the plastic cowling trim piece that is at the bottom of the windshield. That thing was about $230 but I had to have it.

Anyone know about the piece that goes above the window? It's hard plastic. It's on the car itself, not the door. Price from Ray? Got one you don't need? Mine's just flopping around, broke somehow.

I think we are possibly talking about a different rubber line, I'm talking about the outer side of it not he under or inner. Just the outer rubber piece that goes around the trim of the glass so water doesn't go in between.

Just go to safelite or somewhere that does windshields. I got them to put brand new stripping on the front and back when they did my windshield. It cost about 80$ for each end.

Edit: Make sure it is a reputable place that does it well, I had some rust on the A pillar due to a poor glue job previously. If the glue is not done right then water can get trapped in there when it is supposed to run down and out the channel.

The part that is black on the bottom of the side windows? Or the piece that goes all the way around the perimeter of the glass except for the bottom?
