If you think it's fun now, wait until you try to put the ratsnest back in and try lining up the pieces for those little screws to fit back in.
2 of those screws are now resting in peace somewhere between LIM and housing...

Hmm... I never removed the rats nest to do the vac lines.
Maybe I've been working on cars to long and my fingers can get in there gumby style.
Of course I also went simplfied...

EDIT: I just had to remove the coil pack rack and then I could get to everything.

I used a 1/4" drive ratchet with a phillips screwdriver bit in it. Those screws came right out with no problem.

I'm too lazy to read the whole thing to see if anyone mentioned it but I got them out first time. I sprayed them down with WD-40 and let them sit for a while....Mainly because I read that everyone was having a bitch of a time getting them loose.

Then I used a ratchet with a screwdriver head and applied as much pressure as I could in that funky angle and then they broke loose.

No, but I have plotted the untimely demise of a certain few Japanese engineers... good thing for them they're a long plane ride away.

Mahjik: i searched for my boost problem and posted, no one was too helpful, so i pretty much took the hands on approach and realized that my charge control solenoid was probably bad.

its a little tedious getting the rats nest screws back in but after some time of positioning and jiggling... you'll get them...

Soak it in liquid wrench or WD-40. Use a 1/4 rachet drive with a #2 phillips screw driver head. Literally stand over the engine and while pushing the rachet towards the front of the car firmly, loosen the screws. I had all but one come off that way. The last one came off with a needle nose vise grip. I had to replace that screw cuz it was chewed up.

Putting them back in was much harder. Lining up the holes were a bear!

If it's just the charge control solenoid, you can access that one without removing the entire rack. Once you have the coils removed, it's right there. Since it's near the middle of the rack, it's one of the easier ones to remove while the rack is still installed on the car.

When you finally do get the thing out, buy some socket head cap screws (allen wrench type) and replace all of them. That way it doesn't happen again.

I think these screws were right about the part that I decided to go ahead and rip the whole thing apart and go with custom turbos...
