Anyone else's non-oem 99 turn signals melt?

I bought a set off a company called pro car parts, installed them in my car and 3 days later the right turn signal was out. So i checked and the orange part closest to the bulbs were melting on both sides.

I just got off the phone with pro car parts and they said they would replace them no problem. But its still a bummer that i have to go through this.

the blubs that were in mine were 12v 21watt. Ill probably try something like 7-12 watt when i get the new signals,

and i dont wanna here about buying knock offs, i wanted a black housing with the tinted lens and they look great on my car.

sounds like improper wattage bulbs getting a little too hot, cept with tinted lenses now they will likely be hard to see.

You get a pic of this? I'd have to agree with Karack.

Yup mine melted on me too, so I just replaced them with a lower wattage bulb. And I'm gonna smoke tint my turn signals, so it's not so noticeable.

I got mine from rotary extreme.

I used to have a set from procarparts for two years without a problem.
But now the Geniune one are even better.

It's not uncommon for the knockoffs to melt. That's one of the advantage of the OEM ones.

Have you considered tinting OEM turn signals?

I ran the knockoffs from ebay for 1.5 years. I finally had a lense come loose and cracked it trying to repair it. So I got another used set from a friend. Both sets had their own bulbs and harnesses installed already, and I had no problems from any of them.

What replacement bulbs did you use? Did you have to change the socket/wiring?
