Question Anyone blow their engine using Pettit ECU

I know that the timing is advanced on the Pettit ECU and I was curious if anyone has popped the engine because of this? We all know how sensitive the rotary is to detonation.

I know YZF-R1 just lost a motor and was running the Pettit ECU.

People have lost engines using every ECU out there. However, most of the time, it's not necessarily the ECU alone that caused the problem.

The Pettit ECU is good for 1 Bar of boost (as long as the rest of your car is operating up to par).

Yes thats true but advancing the timing and not running the right octane will cause detonation. Add hight boost (12-15psi) and plugs with high miles -> boooom

Pettit ECU is tuned for 93+ octane and I know people in Cali use it so I was just wandering if people are blowing motors with it

That can happen on ANY ecu with low octane.

There aren't too many places around me that have 93+ octane. So, I don't often get a chance to fill up with octane that high and I haven't blown a seal yet (and I boost higher than 12 PSI).

Maintanence is the key. Take care of the car. If you aren't taking care of the car, you are just asking to blow a seal no matter what ECU you have.

I blew mine but my boost also went up to 19-20 psi, so it didn't matter which ecu I had.

However the car ran damn good at 10psi with that ecu!!

When are you rotards going to finally accept the reality of your situation? The rotary engine is POS and it's *NOT* suitable for turbocharged duty. Too fragile!

who is this idiot, and where did he come from?

anyway....I drove my car for four years with the Pettit ECU and it ran like a swiss watch, plus I got great flamage my engine popped on a cold night at 15 psi, so it was my own fault

I plan on running another four years, or longer, on the new ported engine, I'll just be more careful with the boost

Much like any religious kook you will continue to believe in the unlikely and you will continute to suffer and tithe worhiping a false god.

Repeat after me. v-8 conversion. Say it again: v-8 conversion.

I know it was hard for you. But you know deep in your cold little hearts that the v-8 is your master. It school your little fragile rotard and you know it.
