Nope, never had a problem with the RX7 Store. Pettit Racing on the other hand would be a different story...

I think the problem might come from his distributors and not him because I am pretty sure the parts come straight from the distributors to you, at least that's how I think that works. I am not saying it is right, or taking up for him, just trying to shed some light as to how the parts get to you...

Coming from a distributor or not you dont say that you are over nighting something tomorow 5 days ago.

that's true...I'm blaming the wait on the U.S. Military snail mail...going to and from Okinawa ALWAYS takes forever...but I can wait since it's the "cold"season right now and I won't have to worry about my car overheating in 70 degree weather.

yeah, i've had the same problems with jason. can't return a phone call or an email. oh well. that's why i refuse to give him even one cent now. i'd rather pay more for a part from someone else and actually get it a week after i order it, not ******* two months. jason seems like a real nice guy, but it pisses me off when he says that he has something in stock, and then it takes months to get it to me.

I have ordered from a lot (most?) of the aftermarket vendors for RX-7 products. In my experience, it is not uncommon to wait quite a while for parts to arrive. You have to understand that the vendors are often too small to maintain a large inventory (or any at all) and are thus often left to the mercy of their distributors or fabricators. I agree that it isn't ideal, and that it would wise of vendors to manage their customers' expectations about ship dates more dilligently, but they are often busy or aren't necessarily skilled in customer relations.

What is my point? Shipping delays are not uncommon in this business. If you need something right away, ask if they have it in stock before you place your order. Otherwise, order the part(s) far in advance of when you really need them. Accumulate all the parts you need before you take your car apart. And become a repeat customer of those vendors that give you a satisfactory buying experience. Sometimes it is worth it to pay a little more to get something quickly, or simply to support the vendors that you had a good experience with.

I think I agree with Max on this one...

I've ordered parts from a lot of people over the years for my 87 TII and my 93 R1. Most of them have had something get delayed significantly at least once.

The only one that hasn't ever failed to deliver for me is Mazdatrix... However, they don't always carry what I want. I find that they meet 90% of my 87 TII needs, but only about 50% of my 93 R1 needs.... oh well. Your car will be back together soon and when you're ripping up some corners, this delay will seem unimportant. hehe

Well, I've ordered two items from Jason with no problem. The first was the '99 Front lip which I got the same week and just this month I ordered a pair of front Hawk Brake pads which I also got within a few days. So, no probs. waiting for parts..HOWEVER, I he does not include a reciept or invoice with any of his orders which is a pain in the ***. I have kept track of every purchase (rx7 parts) and both times ordering from Jason I had to email him Many times before he sent me a reciept that look like had been made on Microsoft Word. Anyway, I finally got the reciept for the '99 Front Lip....but gave up on my last request for a reciept for my Hawk pads.
