Red face another one of them white smoke threads

i know this has been covered many times but is it normal for the engine to spit out white smoke in WOT?
it puffs white smoke for the first 1-2 minutes of start and thats about it
nothing big.. i think its just running too rich since i see a bit of fuel stains on my garage floor near the exhaust area.
people have white smoke problems at idle and start
but havent read anything on white smoke in WOT.
anyone know?

Here's my 2 cents worth. When I bought my car it was just white smoke at start up for a few minutes. Worked it's way to smoke in WOT. It was the turbos. If you want to be sure get a compression check and go from there.

oil leak on the turbos? Under pressure the oil leaks and then burns maybe? Coolant white smoke smells sweet. Oil white smoke (actually more gray) smells horrible. WOT until you get smoke, pull over and smell the tail pipe. Watch as people go WTH is he doing? LOL

It's often just steam.

Do you get the white stuff when the car is still reasonably warm, or after cooling overnight?

Smoke at WOT is typically turbos. If it's a coolant seal failure, you'll either have the smoke at start up (and it's a thick heavy smoke) or at startup and the whole time you are driving, not just WOT.
