another oil pressure sending unit/gauge prob

i know the usual symptoms of a sending unit going out, as I had to replace mine 21k miles ago from my original going bad. here recently my pressure has kind of been bouncing around, almost like when the first one went bad. not knowing what it is, i get kinda of freaked out because i like to have good oil pressure. well, today i was messin around and noticed my gauge was stuck all the way at the top with the car off. i turned the key on, and it was a little under 60psi. i unplugged the wire from the sending unit and it dropped to zero with the key off and on. if the key is on and i plug the wire in, it stays at zero, but when i turn it off then back on, it goes to around 60. then when i turn it back off, it goes straight back up top again.

i really think it's the sending unit again, but i wouldn't think it would go bad so soon. anyone have any ideas?

I've heard of new Mazda sending units going bad in a MONTH, so I wouldn't be surprised. There's really not that much to the circuit - the failure point is typically the sender.

Where is the plug located, under hood or in the dash?

there's a wire connected at the sending unit, then i would guess one to the back of the gauge. i think i'm going to order a new one from malloy again. maybe it'll last more than a year this time

it's a cylindrical piece located on the side of the motor, underneath the oil filter.
