Am i safe for the summer without a Boost Controller?

I have a 94 MB Touring that is coming out of the shop in about 3 weeks, With a new paint job and body.

The only thing i am worried about it my boost spikes. Only mods i have done are a midpipe and downpipe... and a fuel pump. Well. a Racing beat intake tunnel, but thats almost useless.

When i boost it goes 11-9-13, then back to 11. I am not whoopin on the car, but i do have to drive it for an 8 hour car trip to a show, and then from NY to Atlanta for the Nopi show.

I just dont have 400 bucks for a Boost controller.

Opinions?

You had money for the modifications, but not for a device to safely control them?

Just make a manual boost controller then. There's a ton of info on them on the forum, just do a search.

dude, just stay off the gas. I have a pettit cool charge II intercooler and i've had spikes of about 12psi . . . . i've learned when the spikes come so i usually just take it easy on the go petal. I'm getting a boost controller soon though so i can just floor it and not worry so much

You dont have an aftermarket ECU?
You can also get profec B's off the forum way cheaper than $400

You will not need to worry about spikes as much in summer anyway, when the air is hotter and less dense you will see less spikes etc..

You can take out the boost pills and limit yourself to 7 psi or so.

You need a boost controller. Here's a link to make one for under $10.

http://robrobinette.com/boost_controller.htm

Do not install the prespool controller.

u can do the manual boost controller for now, but i really cant say enough good things about the greddy profec bII.

it costs 300 and was one of the greatest upgrades i have done. it really made the car more pleasant to drive. a shop wanted 200 to install it, so yea, it can get over 500 dollars to have someone put it in.
