Am i going in the right direction.....

so I gotta quote from Real Street here in Blaine, MN that the engine rebuild costs 3500 (with mild porting and exhaust porting) w/e that means, and 1500 for labor. so if nothing goes wrong, i am looking at 5K. What do you guys think? Am i getting ripped off or is it reasonable. I just want a basic build for my car to run again.

Is that with new or used housings? If you just want a basic rebuild, I would take to Kevin at RotaryResurrection:

http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/

You'll have to ship the engine, but you'll probably still come out better that way,

That is a reasonable price for most real shops that have overhead and need to pay rent and employees. I'd say its almost on the cheap side.

Well at both Rotary Ressurection and Peter Farrel Supercars offer removal and reinstallation. PFS price is $5200 for removal, rebuild and install. Kevin's prices will be cheaper and i've never heard even 1 complaint of his work but i've personally seen PFS work on 2 different 3rd gens and they were amazing fast cars.
