please help me get started with my powerfc

hey guys....yes i have searched the forum.... but i need a correct order and direction..... i have the power fc and commander uninstalled. it is used. it was on a 500 hp rx7 and i was told it was reset for stock maps...

my mods that are installed right now are, apexi gt spec exhaust, apexi bov, intake kit, boost and water temp gauges...uninstalled are the power fc, koyo rad., rx7 store mid and downpipes...
1... how do i install? i think i can find a thread or 2 on this...there are no pins that are cut on this unit so what do i need to do.
2..how do i tune it? do i need def. need wb02 and datalog?

i just need to get started in the right direction. thanks guys

will the aem 6 in 1 wide band be a good choice to monitor a/f? it says i don't need a laptop to monitor it.... so my question is this... what exactly do i need the datalog it for ? if i can program my power fc with the commander, and watch the air fuel... is that all i need to tune the car properly?

1) You need to cut the wires if your pins aren't snipped. There's plenty on the forum about that.

2) I had no luck with the AEM wideband, so use that at your own risk. The Innovate LM-1 works, as does the TechEdge. Both have displays available. However if you're doing any tuning, you definitely need the datalogit, or there will soon be a competitive box by FastHatch. Both lets you get to additional settings over what the commander does, as well as letting you log AFR. You need to know what the AFR is at exact locations in your fuel maps, which you can't do accurately by eyeballing a guage.

However, before you do anything, I highly recommend spending time reading old threads. Tuning is expensive if you learn by trial and error. Everything you need to know has been covered in this forum.
