All third gen's have turbo?
Sorry I know it's a stupid question but I own a second gen. My friend, that thinks he is the king of all knowledge, says that the base model doesn't come with twin turbo. Is this true, or is he just wrong about yet another thing????

If it doesn't have a spoiler, the average Honda Civic guy thinks it's the "non-turbo" 3rd gen Rx-7.
I have a silver touring, and I can't tell you how many times I have to answer "This is the non-turbo, right?"
It's because of no rear spoiler. I have a front spoiler, but I'll never get the rear one. Looks like *** and ruins the lines of the car. Front one is beauty tho...

Yeah, that's why everyone goes single because the twins are so much faster. Cracks me up.

I took my brothers gen 2 n/a in the other day to get the tyres changed and I was talking to a mechanic who he said he owned a 1995 same bodystyle as the 87 i brought in and it had a flat 6 in it.... right before I left with the car he asked me if it was a 6cylinder or a 4.. I replied in this exact state ment..
"Nope, its a six sided twin rotor 1.3ltr.."
Man wonder what he would have said about my Fd.......
P.S. I wont ever take a car to wallmart again for anything if you're wondering it was a emergency tyre replace ment only reason it was there...

haha, if i had a dollar for everytime someone asked me "is that a twin turbo?", "is that v6?" i would have enough money to buy to buy a 1 bigger turbo...... so i wont be obligated to answer yes to their questions

I was washing my 3rd gen at the local carwash, A guy in a WRX came up to me and asked the same question. I said they are all twin turbo.. He says "yha OK sure they are" I just laughed.

Concidering only about half the people I meat even know what it is, I dont expect any of them to know the specs of the car, but random guesses are BS I wish people would just come out and say. "Hey, I have no F-ing clue about that car, could you enlighten me?" Then I would be cool with it. Its just people figure they have a 50/50 chance by saying Is this the N/A? Or Is it 4-cyl or 6?

fart on a friends head!!!
i love it when people try to tell me how a rotary engine works, even though they know that ive been messing with them for like 3 years. its funny cause these guys are mechanics and they cant stand the fact that some 21 year old knows more about it than they do. haha. one guy couldnt believe it when i told him that the rotor spins 1/3 slower than the e-shaft. i thought he was gonna rip my neck off. he just couldnt understand that i was right. his argument was, "man, its a rotary engine. . . it rotates. . . like in a circle, man!" all i said is, "if you paid attention in geometry then you would know that rotary or rotate doesnt mean that it is moving in a perfect circle!!" then i brought up stationary gears and they freaked out. haha. whats even funnier is that one of the guys owns a 2nd gen NA. . . AND he rebuilt the engine in one of em. i mean really, you would think he could put one and one together when he took it apart. haha. some people!!!

Honestly,
Its too bad mazda didn't make a bunch of non-turbo touring models to sell to "average" folks who just want a good looking car with som "pep" (their word not mine). They would have sold alot more ofthem and it would have helped to supliment building the ones WE wanted by appealing to a broader audience. How much extra money you think Nissan made selling N/A 300z? How many more folks buy Z3s rather than M-Roadsters? By only producing an extreme enthusiast model (everything from R1 to touring is so close they might as well be the same) they probably hurt sales, lessened dealer service experience, and prob. killed the model sooner than it might have been.
