Alarm/Antitheft goes off unexpectedly.
So, i've owned my 7 since 99'. I've always known it had an alarm, however, i've never used it, never knew how to turn it on, and i've never had it go off. So, after all these years, it chooses to go off. LOL.
I disconnected the battery to shut it off short term, as I have no idea how to turn it off. I have a normal key. No electronics and I don't have an alarm remote either.
So, any input from people that use their stock alarms, or maybe it's called anti theft, would be appreciated. Thanks!

Mine started doing this too, my stock alarm is fighting my aftermarket viper alarm with remote door locks (which i love) but some times when i hit the unlock the viper disarms but the stock alarm goes off and headlights start flipping up however it goes off instantly when i put the key in the door lock and turn it counter clockwise. i believe the stock alarm is thinking someone is opening the door from the inside when i hit the unlock but it only does it some times so idk im gonna try cleaning and lubing my door locks as they seem to be sticking.

Oh man, so i'm not alone on this. I gotta find a permanent fix Tem, because i'll go crazy if it happens every few days. If it does again when I reconnect the battery, i'll try putting the key in the lock again. and turning it counter clockwise. Thanks for the tip Ninja.

Yeah i got to figure this out to, not gonna lie it scares me sometimes because after my viper alarm disarms it will take a second or two and the stock one goes off. definitely try the key in the door it instantly goes off for me when i turn it to the left (with the door closed but idk if that would make a difference never tried it open) but you should try turning the key both ways and see if it works. its alot better than going to the battery, you can also pull the horn relay easily.

Well, I just pulled a check engine light and the car was stumbling. Maybe the light will tell me something..maybe not. Either way, i'll let you know what I find when I get to into it. Ah the joy of project cars..

Drove it today, and the check engine light went off, and it's driving normal. I kind of wish it wasn't so when I have it looked at they're be able see something. Having it looked at next Friday. I'll let people know what I find.
