Airbag Question

if you have a racing steering wheel, and you want to put on a stock steering wheel with an airbag.... how much does that cost? do people sell these used? and if you can get one, does the air bag work?

I tihn oyu misread hies questions, he currently has a raceing steering wheel, and watns to put a stock air bag AND a stock steering wheel on.

I dont' see why you coudln't do that. I'm sure its just liek going through the installation of the racing steering wheel, except backwards. What that procedure is I don't know. However I fo know someone with a very good condition steering wheel and airbag for sale....that person woudl be me!! So PM me if ur interested.

doh, your right zoomspeed. Holy crap man, god I feel like a moron. I guess I read his question and could not really comprehend why someone would wanna put the stock one back on so I guess I switched it around in my head.

In anycase, you can buy the stock steering wheel and stuff but its kinda pricey. A stock airbag usually goes for about 300 bucks while the steering wheel it self usually goes for about 50-200 bucks. It should go back together unless the previous owner welded a hub adaptor to the steering columb. Personnaly I could not wait to get rid of that shotgun shell of an airbag that points right at you all the time. Those things scare the crap out of me!

Personnaly, I think that an airbag would make my car more unsafe. Get a roll cage, 5-6pt safty harness and a helmet and you should be pretty safe.
