aftermarket ecu question

I have a Cali '94 R2 and I'm looking for a pettit ecu as a good temp upgrade until the apexi fc. I have a great deal lined up the only problem is that the ecu is a pettit for a '93 non cali.

Is it a big deal to run the '93 ecu in my '94?
Is it possible to damage anything?
What are the diff? From what I think its only the egr check, right?

Thanks for any input.

Thinking it would be OK. Same motor, same turbos. We all run on the same PFC (well 2 versions but universal). Good Q tho, post answer when u find out

^ moreover, it won't control the EGR which will fail you on emissions testing.

if you have a 94 ecu in a 93 car, will the only side effect be an error code? is there any way to trick it into thinking the EGR is there?

maybe a resitor? but i thought the egr sensor looked for changes in position and interpereted it as changes in voltage values??? are all 94 egr or just the cali emission certified ones??

cali 93's have EGR, and i believe all 94-95 have EGR.

i dont know how the EGR works, but it doesnt sound like there is a way to trick it. hmm
