how to test coils and wire?

Im having a bad misfire at 5-6k. I looked at the shop manuel and could not understand it. Can someone please simply tell me how to test the coils and wires? thanks in advance

use an ohm meter on the coil from the connector to the plug lead. it needs to be withen a certain tolerance, i think its like 14-16 ohms (off the top of my head)
