since you're in cali you def won't pass smog without it so I would suggest you keep it on. at least the visual inspection portion. some have passed smog without it to cali standards but they were running a stock car and down tuned just for smog

for those of us that live in more liberal states, we removed it because it's just a waste of weight, parasitic drag, it breaks and you can see the turbos without it.

My car wouldn't pass smog at this point. I have installed a complete turbo back system eliminating both cats, I have removed the secondary butterflies, front mount intercooler, currently working on getting myself a PFC so I can get it tuned before driving.

All I want is a silver aluminum power steering pump pulley, silver aluminum alternator pulley and a nice billet silver tensioner pulley.

All stock sizes, no under driving for me please.

No weird, out-there crazy anodized colors either.

Do you think I can find anything close to this? NOPE.
With all the mountains of aftermarket parts available for the FD, it drives me insane that I can't get what I want in pulleys!!!

For a fraction of the cost you can buy an aluminum 4 pulley kit and idler from us. Just don't install the underdrive main, all the accessories are stock size.

I don't think he is after an idler, he's after a billet tensioner for the aux belt.

Back from the dead! (And proof that I searched lol)

So I just had my 13brew motor rebuilt with a street port and ported Chips housings, and noticed that the main pulley is now wobbling about 1-2mm. After trying to adjust it, my shop is saying the pulley is probably bent, and they will install a new one next week when it arrives. The internet seems to think it is a worn out rubber isolator on the pulley, but I don't recall seeing any isolator.
anyone here know whether or not the OEM pulley had a rubber section?
(On a related note, if there is the need for a rubber isolator, what issues would running a solid piece bring up?)

Other ideas on why it might wobble besides not being installed correctly?

Also, is there a reason why ATI don't make a super damper for the FD? Is there no harmonic issue since this is connected to the e-shaft rather than a crankshaft? Just wondering...

Thanks!!

rotarys dont have the same balance issues as piston engines, so it is the eshaft to a metal hub to a metal pulley zero dampening needed.
