aeromotive fuel pressure regulator
So, i rebuilt my motor, and in the porcess, i bought an entire fuel system from jason at the rx7store.net. hooked it up and everything, and now when i prime my fuel system, it bleeds off the pressure after the fuel pump shuts off, and i mean, it bleeds off fast. engine won't fire - compression is awesome, new plugs, and i got a base map for my half-bridge port from the guy on the mircotech forum. NOW, the question i pose is, is it normal for the aeromotive fuel pressure regulator to bleed off fuel pressure?i don't know, i've never noticed before, because i DO know that in a stock car, pressure should be held.just want to know 'cause if it isn't, i probably have a BRAND NEW injector that is leaking past the pintle. let me know guys. thanks.

that's what i meant; key on, prime the fuel system with the daig connector, take the wire out of the connector to shut off the fuel pump, and i watch the pressure bleed off in ten seconds

when i noticed this, i figured it was a good time to install my new fuel pump just in case it was bleeding back intot he pump. put the new pump in; same thing, so that takes that out of the mix. with it not starting, i'm concerned that one of the injectors jason sent me is leaking.

Oh, sorry jason, didn't realize it was you! yeah dude, i'm thinking one of the injectors is leaking. i put my old turbos on the motor today since we haven't seen the t04z 1.00 a/r yet, just so i could start breaking in the motor, but the thing would sputter like it wanted to start, then not. i'm done A LOT of engines (i worked with Dave at KDR), so i know they can be hard starting first time. i've done every trick i know to this, but it won't start, and i've been working on this all day!

From Aeromotive's instructions:

The enclosed fuel pressure regulator may not hold significant fuel pressure after the fuel pump stops running.

lol, i'm not too worried about "significant" pressure, but i've never seen a vehicle that bleeds off pressure in ten seconds without a bad pump, injector, or fuel pressure regulator. i'm not to tell anyone otherwise, but i worked with Dave at KDR, and i now work as a tech at a chevy dealership, and as i said, this seems very strange to me. i'm taking this time to get anyone's info before i take the time to rip everything apart to find why she won't start.

i ran the inlet to the secondary rail, loops to the primary rail, then from the primary rail to the side of the FPR, then from the bottom of the FPR to the return line.
