Exclamation AEM Ignition!

Yesterday, i was backing out of my driveway and the car stalled and wouldn't start, so then i unflooded the car and it still didn't start. So i called rx7store and talked to jason he told me to try and plug in the bypass plug and then try it... Wouldn't you know it, the started up fine and the idle when it was cold sounded better..

So my problem this whole time was the aem ignition...

So jason said he was going to call aem right way cause to many people have had problems with them, and that we would prolly be putting a different ignition in my car.

This is the second time i've had problems with this ignition, its bull **** why does AEM sell a product that is a piece of ****

DON'T PUT ONE IN YOUR CAR

Just remove or bypass the AEM until you get it sorted. People have run high HP numbers on the stock FD ignition systems without problems.

You can run fairly high boost if you want. The ignition is really they to prevent breakup at high boost. You won't really hurt your car if it breaks up, just won't make optimal power.

I remember how everyone was praising out great it was (without actually using it) and saying how much better it was then the HKS Twin Power. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

True, but $325 for something that has caused me nothing but trouble pisses me off...

So now i guess i'll have to fork out the money for a hks one, which doesn't seem right.

I talked with AEM today and sending back 6 units to them. They claim to have fixed the problem by using better components in the box. I will let you know what I findout.

Hmm..faulty ignition boxes..widebands with way too much noise/variation in the signal.. I won't be buying anything from AEM ever again.
