add coolant light prob
I did a search, but I did'nt find anything that directly addresses my problem.
My add coolant light comes on right after I start the car. If I let it cool and check the level, its fine. If I let the car warm up, then turn it off, come back 20-30 minutes later, it still starts right up.
Could it be the add coolant sensor just went bad?
TIA
Jeff

Mazda keep telling me to top off the coolant....

I finally took it to another dealer who found the real problem, which were the coolant seals. I should have known that the dealer I purchased the car from wasn't going to admit to something like that...
well thats funny..i had the exact same problem w/ my car..and it was my coolant seals..if u look at the exhaust there should be blue smoke coming out the back..i had my engine redone and found out that it was my coolant seals..not that expensive but without an intercooler (upgraded) and ecu you will be pushing the stock seals farther then where they should be going..car gets hotter faster and u lose power when the car is hot..idel also dips up and way down when car is really hot.. depending on the mileage on your car if its like 70 thou. and above maybe time to get a new engine ..and this time u know how to set it up right..these cars should last over 200 thou miles if taken care of rite..hey we learn from our mistakes

will you see the smoke when its just idleing after its warmed up?
Also, how long can you drive on it if it is the seals, will it cause other damage?

I did notice that the car began to have problems starting. That's when I took it to another dealership.
I actually drove the car for about 4-5 months going back and forth to Mazda at least once a month about the problem until I used another dealership. If you are just going to get a remanufactured engine, then it won't matter how long you drive on it.
If you are going to do a rebuild, you shouldn't drive on it, just to make sure you don't damage anything else.
Make sure to check the sensor first. This may NOT be the problem you are having.

Thanks for all the help

I think there was another thread in which someone described a way to test it. You might search for "coolant overheat".
