ACV removal but not the air pump

One of the bolts holding down my ACV is broken and i can see a gap inbetween the acv and gasket. I have both an acv block off plate and an acv tube block off plate. I read as much as I can but I cant find the answer for the questions I have.

What happens if I block off the acv but not the acv tube with the air pump still there? What exactly does the acv tube do and where does it channel air to?

I dont want to remove the air pump just yet, should I just keep the acv in or does it really make a difference if I take it out?

I also read about plumbing it directly to the cat, im interested in how to do this.
Thanks in advance,

Andrew

Just unplug the electrical connection to the air pump, it then won't pump air and that system will be a "dead" system.

But, if you have a stock ECU, the car will idle rougher and have rough on/off throttle. The factory ECU compensates for the air pump air in the exhaust manifold fooling the O2 sensor into thinking there's more air there. With no air pump, it compensates the wrong way, making the car run not so hot.

If you have a PowerFC, no biggie, it doesn't care. Just turn off O2 sensor feedback and go.

You can bypass the ACV pipe that goes to the AP.
Route the AP output directly to the metal pipe that goes from the ACV to the cat.
You still have to turn O2 FB off but the cat will benefit.

So do connect it directly to where the left block off plate is in the image?

Look at the FSM!
AP air to the ACV to the exhaust and the cat, excess air out to the stock air filter box.

Semi Thread steal.

If running the PFC and i want to keep my air pump, do i leave O2 FB on and leave the wire connected on the wiring harness? When installing the PFC, the writeup says cut 4 emissions wires, including the airpump. do i just reconnect that wire?
