Ack....the little filter/vent on the back of one solenoid broke

Is this a big deal? I noticed that the little vent thingy on the back of this solenoid was broken when I put my coil packs back on (this is the old engine picture, still intact). Will this affect the solenoid at all?

I don't know the answer to your question, but I would replace it.

The filter does just what it is supposed to do. It filters out trash from entering the solenoid housing. Therefore if it is broken, it needs to be fixed to ensure proper operation of the solenoid.

Just pop off that filter and pop on a spare. They are interchangeable.

They are important because all that dust on your rats nest will f**k up with solenoid seals and check valves.

It broke off flush with the back of the solenoid. The little 'stub' that the filter pops on to is what broke.
