Accelleration from 100-200 kmh video

Hi,

After a while I've got the car ready for some boosting. I have full no airpump, 3" exhaust, efini twins & y-pipe, m2 intake, pettit ecu and everything else performance-wise is stock. Boost is 9,5psi with minor spikes to 10,0psi. Here is the clip:
http://www.parsek.si/documents/soru/...ll_100-200.avi

100 to 200 kmh (62,5 to 125 mph) is about 10,2 - 10,3 sec. What do you think, how good is that? I was quite surprised, because I expected a bit worse time especially at that boost. How much horsepower would that be? I'm yet to try it at higher boost...

Don´t know about the hp´s, but you should definately compress that video.
70mb for 20 secs is a bit too much

Oh sorry, I've overlooked the size completely! Now it's a bit better, 5mb... Thanks for reminder!

I didn't have sound, but anyways, is your car Automatic? I say that because of the 7k redline.

Nope, euro-spec FD's have all 7k redline... basically they're r1's with leather, sunroofs, and some other equipment ****...

You are in the 245-260whp my guess. You need to rev past 8, and you will be alot faster. Its a rotary, give it what it wants

rx7raca: I really don't know about reving it beyond 8k. If I'm not mistaken it has rev limiter at 8krpm. Besider, I get the feeling it starts losing power... which in the other hand doesn't mean it's optimal yet to switch gears

I guest I should try it and record it, or go to a dyno...

like you said, go to a dyno and get a dyno sheet. if you're running stock ports, i've heard that power starts falling off between 6.5k and 7.5k rpm, and you need a light street port to get power up around 8k rpm. shift wherever your horsepower curve peaks on your dyno graph, and that'll net you the fastest acceleration.

I wouldnt say so. I have a dynochart of mine on stock ports and it clearly shows dramatic power losses past 6.5k RPM.

Euro FDs come with 7k RPM redline, go figure... But our cars are only quoted 239hp stock unlike your 255. Could it be that our porting is different or is difference just in the ECU ?

Airbag. Mine does the same after aftermarket steering wheel installation.

Yes, maybe we should go down to RSR. Then we can swap out our ECUs and see the difference.

i believe it has to do with the steering wheel being on the right side making that dimple in the dp.

Scratchjunkie, my steering wheel and gauge cluster (notice the LHD ):

Only UK models have RHD. All others have LHD.

Hey Cruiser, I'm pretty sure that the reason for your power drop off @6500 rpm, is because of your stock ignition. I bet our dyno charts are pretty damn similar. I've since installed the HKS Twin Power, and can feel a difference all the way up to readline. I thought I saw you looking for an ignition upgrade-so youa re on the right path...

I think you had different ecu then. In my friends fd, he had the m2, and it pulled even harder past 6k, and he would shift at 8.5k.
