Have you/shop worked on your car recently? You could have accidentally unplugged something going to the ABS unit. If not, check your fluid level, if its full, then like someone previously said, you may have a broken sensor.

Start with the fuses the continue with the sensors
90% it is one of these two
If not revert back here

You also may have rust build up on each sensor or metal "flakes" from rusted brakes. The abs sensors are magnetic so the flakes from rusty brakes can cause a sensor to not get an accurate reading.

The fuse labled "rear wiper" provides power to the ABS computer along with the a/c switch. If that fuse is out the ABS light will come on and the a/c will not engage either.

Makes sense, actually - the ABS ECU is in the rear of the car, so I guess they just ran it off the power lead going to the rear wiper .

Low brake fluid level will light the RED "brakes" light, not the YELLOW "ABS" light.

If the ABS light is on it has nothing to do with brake fluid level!

Actually, if the abs pump is low on fluid the abs light comes on. and it makes the pump make these horrible noises from dry pumping, almost as if the abs is active.

The ABS light is controlled by the ABS computer and the ABS computer has no idea what the brake fluid is doing. It knows if the wheel sensors are good, it knows if the solenoid valves in the ABS pump are good and it knows if the electric pump motor on the ABS pump is good. It has no idea if there is fluid in the pump or valves.

If you have an ABS light illuminate it is not due to fluid levels, it's due to some sort of ABS component failure: wheel sensor, ABS computer, pump or solenoid valve.

My ABS light (yellow one) is on and my ABS does not work. What are the possible causes?

1. Sensor?
2. Fuse?
3. ?
