ABS Brake Problem

Hey guys will i have a prob...my ABS brake light came on and i started to hear a buzzing noise coming from the engine...and yeah i think my ABS went out, but I still have brakes and everything..anyone with some insight about my prob? and how much it costs to fix that if that is the case? and also I had to take the fuzz out so the buzzing coming from my ABS woulnd't run my battery out. Thanks!

The ABS relay is sticking. It's inside the little plastic box on top of the ABS pump. Put the fuse back in and if the buzzing starts again trying tapping on the relay. If that makes it stop you know you need a new relay.

Don't bother. If there were a sensor problem you'd get an ABS light. The pump buzzing isn't from sensor issues as you can see from the fact that with the key off (no power to ABS computer) the pump is still running.

The only way the pump can run if the key is off is if its relay is stuck closed.

Damon,

Ever seen an ABS condition where the ABS sporadically kicks in for a very short period upon coming to complete stop.

Let's say a moderate braking from 35-0 mph, and right around .5 mph as you're still on the brakes you feel a quick ABS chatter.

Dry pavement, no gravel or anything of that nature.

Only ones I have seen/heard of are the common ones: fluid leaks from the pump or a pump that continues to run or buzz after shutdown due to the pump relay sticking.

I think it is your relay !
Let us know what happens...I have had an ABS gremlin for quite some time, hopefully I will be curing it in the next few days!

Thats exactly whats going on with mine right now... not to mention I had the buzzing sound come on last night with out noticing it in the garage and come to find out this morning that it had completely drained my battery. Also, my ABS light will always be on right before I get out and here the buzzing.
