About time to change engine oil again, final opinions on DINO vs. SYNTHETIC .....
Currently Im using soem Valvoline VR 50 SAE oil...... I read about the thread where people have started to use MObil 1 full synthetic oil. Before I got my Rex I was told never ever ever to use synthetic but I might just want to try it out and see if there's any difference like claimed better/smoother shifting and other such goods.
SSoooooooooo...... Just want to check with those people that have used synthetic for a while and have concluded that there is no problem using it. Ccomments will be helpful.
Thanks.

Dude, screw Astroglide. KY is the **** .... no pun intended. (gee, add a 'with' and a 'for' ... and I've lost my PG-13 rating)
No seriously ... if you're too lazy to check the already posted link, Mobil 1 is okay, Redline is okay, Royal Purple is okay. Have used all three and don't have any problems with the oil itself. But, there is the good point of "if you've been running fine with regular dino juice, why switch now?"

Why switch is what I'm also wondering because it may actually improve on those things that are being claimed of what synthetic oil can do over dino oil. I guess that's the only reason to switch. Price and how often to change the oil in comparison with one being regular and one being synthetic is another issue.........

OK, lets face it. Has anyone ever lost a motor because of the oil they used? I seriously doubt it. It is a fact that synthetics make the engine run a few degrees cooler. It is a fact for most people that the engine runs even smoother with synthetic. The "negative" effects of modern synthetics are rumours at best. I ask again, who has had an engine fail due to "build-up" of synthetic residue?
More importantly for those of us still running the twins, synthetics are much better for the turbos than dino juice. Spend the extra cash for Mobil 1. Change it every 3k (or more often if you think it's necessary). End of discussion. Next.
