Has anyone that sent their taillight to Roman recently received it back yet? I sent mine to him about a week ago...does it usually take this long?

He told me he was held up at gunpoint last week and that was the reason for the delay. That explains a lot and I'm glad he's alright...

thanks and also shipping it back becomes a problem from here. ask azaka. i sent his out using fedex 2 day standard and it cost me $61.80. he sent it overnight and it cost him $50. my overnight back to the same address costs $120!!! for some reason, it cost me more to ship from here. the lady at the post office said that this is a busy place so we have a lot of trucks but other places are more expensive because they are not as populated. she's right, i live in LA so we do have a lot of trucks going around.

Well UPS has standard rates and the lady I talked to said the estimate she gave me would be correct for shipping back to me. I already sent you the amount for UPS 2nd day air shipping back to me so you should be all set.

I hope you were able to finish mine by today. This has become such a painful ordeal for me...

Here are the pics of my rotor shaped lights:
http://www.brentroad.com/photo_folde...Lights&filter=

The pics didn't turn out that great but the lights are truly badass. Everyone who's said anything to me about them think they are awesome.

The quality of the work is really superb, rzograbian is awesome. If you want 99-spec lights and don't want to pay hundreds for new ones but don't want to risk doing them yourself, send them to rzograbian.

Does anyone know if the cops will hassle you for having rotor shaped taillights?

they cant, i have researched this. this is a fact:
our us lights have the DOT approval stamp on the lense if anyone has read it. i have because i have worked with so many. we can do anything to the inside but as long as the DOT sign is there, they cant say anything. now if you 100% tint your lights, then yea.

thats the reason i myself have converted and not the japanses orignals..... think about it!

btw, Thanks Azaka, i liked them too!! i wanted to try to include apex seals on the corners but that would take too much time!

Actually Rzo...technically you are wrong.

They could site you for modifying your stock lenses if the cop knew that those were not the original lights and you painted them.

So just because it has the DOT approval, if the cop had knowledge of FD's and wanted to be a dick, he could write you a ticket if he wanted.

The phrase "DOT approved" is actually a misnomer. The DOT doesn't approve anything, it only sets standards of safety. Manufacturers test their own equipment and add their own DOT approved labels for marketing purposes. A cop or anyone else enforcing the DOT standards, don't care at all about these labels. They know the regulations that the DOT has set for parts such as taillights and if the taillights don't follow them, he will write you a ticket.

What you really need to do is look up these regulations (http://www.access.gpo.gov/nara/cfr/w...v5_03.html#501) and see if the rotor modification violates any of them.
