Question 99 spec rear spoiler

I have a silver fd, and i ordered a silver 99 spec wing and was told the silver on it is different....i think it is the silver on the 99 fds, and i think it is called "sunlight silver"....i was wondering how different is the silver on the wing compared to silver stone metallic?

According to the '99 brochure the '99 silver is called "Highlight Silver Metalic".

It's hard to judge by the brochure pictures but it looks like a lighter shade of silver, almost white.

I would paint it anyways. Something little like a mishaded wing could **** you off in the long run, so just paint it before you mount it. =)

depends entirely on the shop. if you go to a shop that is advertised in all the import magazines as show car builders and are known to do crazy **** like making custom kits and doing scissor door conversion...get ready to pay out the ***.

however, just getting a wing painted should not cost more than $60-$70 at a reguar paint shop.

NoSkidRcr: I went to a high end shop here in Ohio, they only do imports, mostly BMW, and exotics. I've had my X5 to them before and knew they would do excellent work.

It was $521 to have my silver 99 spec tail color matched and painted. But I knew it was going to be expensive going there. I'm VERY VERY happy, the match is near perfect! (and I'm picky!)

The paint shop will ask for the 2 or 3 digitl/letter code for your car which is found inside your door jam on the drivers side.

You can see how it came out @ http://flathat.woodstream.net/RX7/

oh, and when I get the time, I'll do some write up's on each mod, if I performed it myself, how difficult it was for a newbie mechanic, etc...

It cost me $180 to have mine painted to match my FD and then another $120 to have it installed.

Get it painted to match the car.
