99 Spec Carbon Fiber Lip: Gathering Interest

Hey Guys,

Shineautoproject, one of the vendors on this forum is actually considering doing this. They are a very reputable shop and I know a lot of people on this forum have been following their progress with their replica's of basically anything that's high in demand.

I talked to Ken from Shineautoproject and he said it's a very good possibility he could make a 99 spec CF lip if there is enough interest.

Here's the link to that thread:
https://www.rx7club.com/group-buy-center-69/carbon-fiber-99-spec-front-lip-possible-544748/

If it seems like a profitable venture (which judging from the multiple threads and people requesting this part it is) to him, I'm sure he'll undertake it.

A LOT of people, including myself can vouch for the quality of their work so that shouldn't even be an issue. In fact, I would say most of their replica's actually fit better than the originals, especially the burnout kit .

The thing is the way Shineautoproject from what I understand works is that they wait for interest in a particulat kit/part and once enough is gathered they'll take deposits and begin the work. Slightly lenghty of a process, but DEFINITELY, speaking from experience, worth the extra wait.

I really hope this ends up working out, I've been wanting a high quality 99 spec carbon fiber lip since forever without the rediculous Mazdaspeed price tag of $650.00-700.00.

PLEASE if you want this part be active and let him know. Post in the thread that you're interested so we can make this happen. Thanks.

Oh and BTW- I spoke to Ken today regarding this particular part. He mentioned that since Carbon Fiber is very limited and he wants to keep it for other projects as well, he’ll probably only be making 20 of these lips. If you want in make sure you’re one of the first 20 to post in the thread mentioning your in, otherwise sorry.

Riz

I'll find out details regarding pricing tomorrow. I dont think it should be over $400.....probably lower from my conversations with Ken.

As I already stated above, Shineautoproject makes products on demand. As of now I don't think it's a possibility to see pictures of the lip because they haven't begun any sort of production on this part. If you want to see a picture of a CF 99 spec lip, I would say just search and I'm POSITIVE their work will be equivalent if not better than any pictures you come across.

If you want in, sign up, space is limited.

Isn't that a horrible choice of material for a piece that low and in the path of road debris, speed bumps, etc?

True....but for me personally this will be used more for "show" than anything else. As for everyone else that already signed up, I can't say, but I'm sure they are well aware of the possibility for damage.

I don't even know who this is, but maybe you're referring to Sonix7? In anycase, all the 99 spec lips so far have been overlayed in CF. This piece that Shineautoproject is looking to create will be made of CF.

Yeah Sonix7 hehe.

Hrmm, the burnout will be going on my car eventually.. so it's not of use to me. But Ken does do awesome work, I've personally been to their shop.

Here's the deal: I spoke with Ken today and he said the price will be $350 + shipping, which personally seems to be a great deal. As far as the Carbon weave here's basically what Ken said today over the phone and he also posted in another one of his threads:

"We can make it out of plain weave or twill weave. Our carbon diffuser is plain weave. I prefer plain weave over twill weave. Let us know what you would like. Our plain weave is starting to run out (that's why our carbon stuff is pricy) so let me know quickly."

We're almost there guys, just need 9 more buyers and we should be well on our way. If anyone knows people who would be interested in this part, get the word out and let's make this happen .

Riz

^ Damn! Really? I'm definitely planning on buying one, but I don't intend to use it on the streets, mainly for show purposes. Is your car daily drivin? I'm curious because I might want to keep the lip on sometimes, but not sure if it's a smart idea.

BTW- I thought this thread got closed, but oh well .
