If you have the bumper skin and the 99 spec rebar, then you only need to transfer over the aluminum brace/bracket on the top and steel brackets on the sides.
Depending on which 99 spec lights you got, you may need a conversion harness for them to actually plug in.
The oil cooler ducts are also larger, but I am still using the factory ones on mine because $.
You need the following addons to be "complete":
- Dual oil coolers and R-Magic cooler ducts (from RHD-japan)
- Front lip (93 wont fit good. Also this has more downforce. F138-51-9K1B and F138-51-9L1B)
- Air intake guide (F138-50-A21) (stops air going up in to the bumper instead of IC/intake)
- Undertray air guide (F138-50-AH1) (dunno the exact purpose, but its a flat "bar" i ahve found on other cars as well)
- 99-spec lip air ducts for brakes (F138-43-63XB and F138-43-64XB) (you need this to complete the look if you have the lip)

Went really well. Got the big parts from Mazda, then sourced the rest used or from Amayama.com. I think there are a few more bolts and screws on the new setup than the old.
I cross referenced the 93 and 99 parts lists and came out with the list under.
To be on the safe side, i ordered the following nuts and bolts:
My guess is that you dont need all, and if you have a dealer/hardware store close you should be okay. I know i did not use all of them, but i used some. The rivets are just regular rivets, but if you get them from Mazda you get the right size right away (for poping the cover back on the alu mounts). I just wanted to get it done in one go and when the dealer is expensive i just got it from Amayama
And how do you order the part numbers. Do you have to go to the dealership? Or can you get them online?
Its either the lip, or the air guide (50-732C) under the bumper.
The list i posted are made up from comparing the two versions, and ordering what i was lacking, or could not identify. So its not 100% correct. If you want to be 100%, download the JDM EPC that i have shared in the tech section, and compare it to the one you can find on Mazda Genuine Parts | Jim Ellis Mazda Parts, or on the EU/US EPC that is shared together with the JDM version. (NOTE: You cant use both of them on the same computer, so if you want both, use a VM like VirtualBox)
I order all my OEM parts from Amayama.com using the part#. You can get them from the dealer also. In the US, the dealer might be able to get them for a reasonable price.

It was a pretty straight forward process. But as anything else, dont rush it. Would set aside a weekend for it. I think the only thing that became an issue for me was the placement of the sound-horn. The way they sat previously they interfered with the oil cooler ducts, and i had to move it. It was not a huge problem, but took some thinking to relocate it to an existing hole. All the parts i used came either from the old bumper, or from the dealer.
And since its OEM parts, everything fit perfect. Thee only problem i faced was the oil cooler ducts (from R-Magic) who needed some force to fit properly on the cooler side, but it slides perfectly on to the bumper side. They also need a good round of sanding and paint to look perfect.
This image show the front a bit better, but as most black cars, the details of the front drown a bit in the paint. At least you can partially see the oil cooler, but the duct is not visible (sign that i did a good job with it )

Oredered all the big pieces. Bolts and nuts I will be sourcing them locally so I can return them. How many rivets have you used?

Any chance you can post some close ups of the R-magic ducts, how they are mounted and currently fit? Even if just from the opening of the bumper. From reading roughly six 99 bumper threads, it seems the 99 bumper setup never had OEM oil cooler ducts?

I'll see what i can get done The car is in storage but i have access to it.
They are mounted using the same mounting points as the 93+ ones, and the hardware is included. Once painted black, they look 99% OEM. I have not been able to find any factory options to it.
After seeing how good the result became, i would recommend everyone with a 99-spec bumper to do the mod
