Why not?

Is the oil gauge that much more useful?

the oil pressure gauge is all but useless. i will have an idiot light set to 30 psi before i track my newest fd. i dont want to go after market as the CA cops are far easier on stock cars than silly bling bling slammed rice rockets. i have 300rwhp and no one is the wiser. i want my car to look as stock as possible. except for the big brakes of course.

david how did you do it. i was going to order one from mazda comp if they have them and try to wire it or simply use the oil pressure gauge reading off the map sensor with some resistors to calibrate it

i dont see anything wrong with going with the newer gauges. they look sweet, and they also match my defi's! Ive owned 2 FDs so far, and neither one of them had stock oil pressure guages that worked. usually they show 0 psi at idle. After I installed the defis, I never even looked at the stock guages anymore though.

The stock oil pressure gauge not working is a result of a broken sender (according to the Majik, the mod)

true but a an oil pressure gauge is all but useless on the track. it takes very little time to smoke a bearing if you loose oil pressure and no one has time to look at the gauge every 10 seconds on the track, or the street. a good idiot light will save you.
come on someone must tried this.
