Thumbs up 99 RX-7 front plate

Ive got a buddy who is going to stamp out some 99 RX-7 front plates. I need one for my new FD and i know some of you are looking for them as well.

My question is who can hook me up with the proper dimensions for the plate, the font for the lettering as well as size, etc.

I had picked up one for my last FD years ago in the group buy that was on this forum and would like to get it as close to that specific plate as possible, size, screen printing the logo and all (if anyone happens to have one still lying around I'll purchase it from you )

I'll probably look for one on the WTB section as well, be great to have a template to go from.

FYI, don't know if you know this, but the size and bolt hole spacing on Japanese plates are different from US plates. In other words, don't have your buddy start with a blank US plate and think it will bolt up.

Definitely

I'll be able to make a template hopefully soon and just send it to him.

Being that Nick/Turb0x2 doesn't make these any more, there is definitely a need within the community.

Keep us updated, I see a successful Group Buy in the future

Did you get the size? I just made a European plate and I was wondering if it would work.

I havent gotten it just yet, still standing by on dimensions. My latest RX7 is being shipped and wont be in for a couple weeks. Once it comes in I'll make up a mock plate out of some stuff i work with called kydex and send it to my dude for his template. I'm pretty amazed how hard these are to find.

I had a member on here send me the correct image for making this plate. I got in touch with a local sign company that makes plates and this was the result. I believe I payed $25 and I had it in less than an hour.

Will these fit on the rear bumper? I don't need a front plate, but don't mind using one of these on the rear when taking pictures.

^ I'm sure you could ask for one without bolt holes and drill it yourself to fit the rear.

Or if nothing else maybe he can cut you out a US spec plate of the same thing.

This is really nice, can it be done with brush aluminum finish for the RX-7 lettering?

I would think that would depend on who ever is making the plate for you. The local company I used only had two options for the background colour, but as far as the actual letting goes there didn't seem to be any restrictions. It will vary from whoever is making the plate for you though.

Guys,
Trying to do a group buy for these exact plates on this thread
https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...2A%2A-1084531/

Let me know if any one is interested, and having that template for bolt spacing and sizing would be handy, if you could sent that over to me as well Matt.
