Depends on the part. But you won't be able to import a 99 RX-7 anyway.

Actually, you can get a '99 in the States. But you aren't going to do it without spending an insane amount of money. Unless you're in the military. We can bring almost anything into the states if we get stationed overseas long enough. It's great how that works!!

Inis, the '93 - '96 were series 6 FD's while '97 and up were series 7 and 8 if I remember correctly. Just like some of the FC's were series 4 and some were series 5. It all depends on the year of the FD and most of the parts would work with some mods, but why would you want to use the older series parts when you could be usuing the newer and "usually" better parts with a '99 model. I hope that helps to answer your question. Laterz.

I actually did a post with the 100% accurate dates straight from Mazda a little while ago. Its just a few pages back in this section I think.

FC RX-7

86-88 = Series-4
89-91 = Series-5

FD RX-7

92-95 = Series-6
96-98 = Series-7
99-02 = Series-8

Mechanically, the S-8 parts should fit a USA S-6. If your going to install the S-8 nose for example, then make sure you get the S-8 reinforcment too. Park lights will have different plugs so you will have to cut some wires & modify.

S-8 rear wing requires 2 holes to be plugged & 2 holes to be drilled compared to the S-6 rear spoiler.

S-8 dash cluster goes straight in but some wiring is slightly out, (see current thread elsewhere for answers)

S-8 sports wheel goes on but you may lose your cruise control if you have a luxury pack S-6

S-8 (top of line Type-RS) gets a 4.3 LSD in place of the standard S-6 4.1 ratio, bolts straight in

S-8 wiring is around 40% different to the S-6. Major drama's there if you wanna play with S-8 electrical accessories, lots of time fixing it all up...!!

S-8 tail lights go straight into your S-6 but the plugs are different. Instead of cutting & changing the plugs, simply uses the bulbs & harness from your S-6 as they pop straight in.

Engine control is way different, mechanically the same but sensors & emmissions controls are all changed. Cant go out & get a S-8 engine with harness. Then (after bolting it all in) expect to plug it into your S-6 ECU, even the plugs are wrong.

Could go on quite a bit but you get the picture.
