99 guage cluster kmh to mph

I was just wondering if there is anyway to make the 180kmh speedometer register 180mph. Would this require changing the motor on the speedo? Is this even possible?

I think you need a new speedo. I have heard of "devices" that ulter the signal somehow and make the speedo register more speed.

Yes, there is stuff that can make the KMH speedometer actually display MPH... For R34 Skylines... the FD? Well, I'm shure there are deffinitely things like this out there, but you're gonna need to look. I think it alters the gearing on the speed sensor, or alters the electronic signal somehow.

www.speedohealer.com I use this on motorcycles and you can adjust for tire wear, gearing, retains top speed and not to expensive (yes it converts).

I think you could jusy buy a mph cluster and switch it with your km/h cluster. I've seen some people doing this with their skylines and it worked just fine. A friend of mine switched his 180km/h cluster for a 340km/h racing one, did no modification and it showed the right speed

The JDM and USDM speedos are an exact swap.

I might have an extra MPH speedo soon if you're interested.

I'm debating on purchasing the 99spec guage cluster because my tach is going out on my current cluster, but I want the speedo to read acurately in mph instead of kmh...180kmh only equals like 112mph. I like to know what mph I'm doing without having to convert.

If it's just the odometer reading, have you tried fixing it?

if not, just disregard

You can replace the tach without having to replace the whole cluster. Our gauge clusters are completely modular, it's like 3 screws to take the tach out.

If you send me your cluster, I can have the speedo recalibrated so it reads in MPH. So the 60kph mark would actually be 60mph, and the 180kph mark would actually be 180mph, etc etc.

I offer this service simply b/c I sell sooo many JDM clusters (both OEM and aftermarket).

Thanks,

I swaped my USDM speedo with a EURO one... everything works gr8 till i installed PFC and it started to read 20-30kms/h when i was on a dead stop... swaped it back to the USDM and everything works normaly... maybe its just a busted speedo, but wierd since it only happent when i got the PFC...

That's done on an individual basis only, as I have the entire cluster checked for any problems/malfunctions/damage etc before touching it. If everything's fine, we'll simply recalibrate the speedo. If not, you'll have the option of either having the cluster problems repaired, or having the cluster sent back. It isn't smart to try and work on a malfunctioning cluster

Euro speedos shouldn't be any different. You may have connected the speedo incorrectly, or have a problem/malfunction of the Euro speedo you installed.
