97 engine wiring harness spliced with 93 ecu plugs

Can i use a 97 engine wiring harness splice the (ecu side) plugs in from a 93 and use it on my 93 FD? the reason i ask is because i have started doing this and found there are a couple extra wires that dont match up with the 93 plugs. i can get some pics of what im talking about if need be.
Thanks in advance guys i appreciate it

thanks mahjik

ok im dumb after reading all those threads ive come to the conclusion i have a 93-95 harness and its not jdm. but im still left with a couple weird things like i have 3 black white wires wired together, then another group of two black whites wired together. I have 3 Blue yellows wired together. I have a dark Blue yellow that goes no where. a solid green wire that goes no where. 3 solid yellow wires that wire together. ok i think thats all the crazyness, is this right? i doubt it but if someone could give me a link or anything like mahjik did that would be awesome.

sounds like those may be +12V power wires for solenoids and/or injectors. From what I remember they run through the engine harness (the wiring diagram calls this the 'emissions' harness) but connect to one of the connectors up high near the dash... not to the 4 ECU plugs. There are service manuals and wiring diagrams out there, if you have trouble finding them look for a link in the 'FAQ for 3rd Gen' sticky thread here in the 3rd Gen section.
