96+ computer diagram

All Im waiting for in my FC to FD swap is the computer diagram. It being a 96 jdm computer, I can't tell which wire is which from the harness. I have searched and searched but can't find anything on that particular year. Anyone know anyone in Japan or any other suggestions? I've asked most of the top rx7 tuners in North America and they can't even help me. I need someone on the inside. lol. Thanks

FC to FD? As in engine swap?

I'm running at 96 JDM with 16bit computer but to be honest I don't think you'll find anyone who'd know which individual wire goes to which pin unless you paid an auto electrician to figure it out one by one which will cost you more than an arm and leg.

I have seen Apexi Power FC made for FD's which have harnesses to plug into an FC. I would say getting your hands on one of these would be your best bet as this pin layout is exactly the same as the stock ecu and will plug into it no problem.

I just can't believe that no one in North America has no diagram of the computer harness. I just cannot believe it. A power fc is not an option for me. If it were 95 and down then no problem. That is however an option; getting an older computer. Sucks that its only 8 bit though. But at least I'll still be lightin em up!!

I've heard that Australia also has the 96 rx7. Is that correct? If so, surely someone there must have access to a wiring diagram. Just to make clear, yes i am doing a complete engine swap. I bought a front clip and changed everything over. Just need to know what goes where for the wiring that goes to the car itself.

I'm referring to the harness of the Power FC. Something along the lines of this http://page10.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m41293224.

As you can see the top end is where your harness for your FC goes in. The other side will plug into the 96 JDM stock ECU as it is the same pin layout as the Power FC for that model. I'm almost certain someone in Japan makes a harness such as this.

The thing is, there's no need for it here. There aren't many 96+ FDs on this continent at all. The ones that are here are usually garage queens. There's no reason to get a 96+ FD or 96+ Engine other than to say that you have a S7 or S8 FD and/or engine. In the end, the S6 is just as capable as the latter ones, so there's no real demand. That's why noone has the diagram here. go to ebay japan? Maybe write Amemiya or Fujita a letter?

I was about to mention what SLOASFK just said. You won't find much answers about 96+ FD's as not many members own one. There are plently over here in Australia and I am yet to come across someone with a workshop manual let alone a body electricial manual for the 96+.

If your desperate I suggest you contact FDNewbie or Daioni. They both have lots of contacts in Japan and almost certain they can answer your question or better yet find what your looking for.

well I already have it and its just waithing to be wired up. They changed the harness plugs in 10/95 to the different plugs in 11/95. Actually the computer went from 8 to 16 bit aswell. I bought it thinking it was a 93-95 but later found out it was a 96+. Just my luck. I would have been happy with the 95.

Good points. Then you have to take in to account...Of all the wiring diagrams in circulation for the S7/S8 FDs(seemingly not many), how many are in English? That could cause more problems for the OP. My advise is to do what the other guys said and just get a PFC.

Hell, if you want an S6 FD ECU, my friend has one you can buy. USDM spec, out of a 94.

I'll let you know if I need to buy that other computer. A power FC just isn't in the budget. I spent way more than expected already and I've just bought a new house so funds are very limited. I also need the plug part of the computer too. Not just the computer itself if I take that route. Thanks.
