How do I rig the ACV so that the AIR pump is only pumping to the main CAT (not port air) when the air pump is on?

I am considering just blocking it off and bypassing it entirely but I seem to remember that just disconnecting something would do this.

Will the CAT overheat, assuming the AFR's are reasonable if run in this mode?

The air pump will still be turned off with the factory RPM switch.
