I'd say depending on the reliability of your car and what you want to do to it, about $150-500/mo on average for a year. This is not including gas.

its directly related to mod's. I had a stock fd and It ran great no problems, but you just need do simple things like change the fluids.... so I would say 100 month but you should always have some cash set aside....

It's also related to mileage driven. Mine needs a few hundred a year in pure maintenance, but I drive about 3-4k/year.

Replace the wiring harness($700.00), Clean and flow test injectors ($100.00), Install FC thermoswithc($50.00), Delete AST($40.00).

Once those mods are performed it is just like any other car assuming it wasnt ragged out when you received. These cars are not as finicky as this site will lead you to believe, it is over half the time related to the owner than the car.

Change the oil every 2k miles, dont wait longer as these cars dilute the oil with fuel, change plugs ever 5-6k miles. You really shouldnt be putting more than $250.00 a year in the car for maintenance once you get it up to par.

+1 I would also spend a fair amount of time on this forum just to make you more aware of little things about the car. These cars can run great if well maintained but if you skip on something it can come back and bite you, especially once you start modding.

I'll agree with this, but I would add a couple more parts to it.

Keep in mind that these recommendations are for a street driven car. If you regularly track your car the temperatures will run hotter and the list of maintenance items will be longer.

X2 i literally did all this when i put the new motor in my FD (got it blown) minus AST had an aftermarket and i also replaced the fuel pulsation dampener. NO more unreliable than my 01 protege DD...
