93 Rx7 Twin Turbo Question....

Planning on getting a 93 RX7, and was wondering if i were to get a big single turbo, would i need to remove the stock twin turbo or leave it on and add another big turbo.... and also whats does the FD or FC stand for?

1) Remove and replace.
2) FD (3rd gen.)/FC (2nd gen.) is the chassis code. You'll see this in the VIN.

It sounds to me that you need to do a little more research before you purchase a FD. Take some time to read the newbie stickys on the top of this forum.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that when you purchase an FD, you will spend about $1.5k a year in repairs for the life of the vehicle. If you were to go single, the cost of the turbo, fuel mods, IC, rad, etc, etc, etc would be in the $10k to $15k range. Single turbo 3rd gens are a lot like needy wives. So my question to you is: What kind of means do you have to support your new spouse?

Can you have three turbos? Sure. Using the existing stock twins and manifold with an addition turbo? Not likely.
