8bit loom into a 16bit car
Hi all,
After a bit of info, I have a 16bit 1997 car and have bought a Rywire engine harness for it that obviously only come in 8bit. I have a patch loom for the ecu plugs so they aren't a problem.
My problem is the 2 plugs for the chassis harness, the 8bit rywire chassis harness plugs have a lot more wires than the oem 16bit chassis harness plugs. The corresponding socket on the chassis harness only has pins in it for the places that have the wires on the oem 16bit plug. My questions are 1. Are the wires pinned in the same locations on both the 8bit plug and 16bit plug?
2. Does it matter that the extra wires won't be connected, I.e. Are they inputs that the 16bit chassis doesn't need?
Basically, can I use the Rywire harness on my car?
Cheers,

From the RyWire website: "Our harness does not support the Austrailian 16-bit ECU's from 96-98"
