800hp Tranny?

I'm looking around for what options I have for a transmission that will support 800rwhp, I would like to keep the 5 speed if possible, I read somewhere that earnie from PFsupercars is running a dogbox tranny but I cant seem to find any information on it like how much they cost and what kind of power they hold up to.. Any help you guys can give me would be much appreciated. Thanks!

If you're running you're car on the street i wouldn't run a dog box. But if you have 800rwhp, i'll assume you're not.
I would just go with a jerico, 4 speed preferably, but there five speeds are good too. Lots of people that road race use them, plently of mazda guy too.

You could go supra r154
https://www.rx7club.com/general-rotary-tech-support-11/r154-supra-transmission-adapter-403242/

or t56

Howard Colman is working on a T56 swap for our cars. I would wait for that to be released. Many companies beef up T56s if your power goals exceed the strength of the stock T56.

He's not a performance shop guy.... He doesn't even work on his own car. But I'm sure he can give you some info on what will break and what won't.

T56 is a 6 spd. T5 is a 5 spd.

The supra getrag is a 6 speed as well.

Plus without using a super heavy flywheel on the supra tranny (Dual Mass Flywheel) you get a lot of chatter in neutral.

Try calling Ari at Rx7.com.... or make 800hp first, then worry about the transmission. Have you tried searching, or posting something in the drag section?

ahahahahahahahahah.... 800hp?!! Daily Driver?! hahaha

I can't believe people took the time to respond to this with any real thought. Seriously guys, don't encourage this type of crap.

It's 1) obvious the op has no idea what they're asking, 2) 800hp?!?, 3)seriously and finally 4) no seriously.

I don't recall OP ever saying it was going to be a daily, so you can try to actually provide some information or not.

since when did you become the *final* say-so / expert? Just because people do not post cars like this doesn't mean they dont exist. It's pretty rude of you to call this guy a liar to his e-face. shame on you.

Double shame on him for not reading anything after the first post, where he states it isn't a DD.

^ I thought post #3 said it was gonna be a DD. I apologize. I mis-read it. So it's a 800hp weekend car track car that he's gonna drive there, race it at WOT and then drive it home.

It seems like it's every other day now someone comes online with a low post count (not always the best indicator - I admit) asking for input on how to reach 600-800hp - and we all know it'll never happen. You at least gotta admit that!

And since when does a signature prove anything? I didn't realize we could only type the truth in our signatures.

Double shame!? I still think this is pie in the sky e-posting. If I don't see any proof of this HP monster in 6-months, I'm coming for my apology.

/subscribed

EDIT: OP Call A-spec tuning. They've got some high hp cars that they work with. ~800hp range. They could give you some input.

Just curious...why do you not want a 6 speed? You could run a nice overdrive to cruise with...

The nice part about T56s is that they are relatively cheap and abundant. They came attached to LS and viper motors so people have been putting tons of power through them for a long time and know their limits. There are also many companies that rebuild and beef up these transmissions.

Running a dogbox is much more extreme. The gear whine is pretty damn loud. Then again, performance wise the dogbox is superior. There was what appeared to be a top notch sequential gearbox being sold by an Australian guy here not to long ago in the classifieds. I think he wanted 15000 or so for what he claimed to be a 30000 box.

Is this a drag car or a street car?

now on topic..

go T5, or Dog gears, i know PPG does them for the FD tranny unless you want to go V160. They are based in Australia.

Well the set up in the sig would be capable of the horse power figures he claims to shoot for in the post asking about supporting mods for it. So unless he wants to live in a fairy land of make believe parts, then maybe he really does have a fast car and just doesn't know a lot about trannys.
