Is 700HP Obtainable??

Hey everyone.

I've been away from this forum for a LONG time.

I'm sorry if I didn't search, but right now I'm having intraweb problems, so searching is a lost cause due to my internet going down every 3 minutes or so.

I am having a "discussion," we'll call it, on another forum about FD3S RX-7s. He claims that it is extremely difficult to have 700 rwhp on a 13b rotary engine. I think he's wrong. I know it would be difficult, but he is arguing that it's damn near impossible.

Does anyone here have any links to sites showing very high horsepower RX7s?? Or can anyone here give me some good information to show him that he doesn't know what he's talking about??

Thanks.

yes it's possible but not exactly easy. hell, a handful of guys have put down over 500 to the wheels on stock port S4 turboII engines, an REW has larger natural ports with even more room for improvement!

There's a video floating around from Japan with an FD on the dyno, I think it made 703 to the wheels. He had to have 3-4 guys in the hatch to keep it down.

700hp doable

I was over at CFT in Orlando , boss showed me a Dyno chart from a 13b, he said it was incredible, 814whp, but get this!! 710Ftlbs torque at only 4700rpm, NOW! I was impressed.

Ernie T is pushing the 700 hp number, maybe even exceding it, he wont tell anyone yet until he runs a 9 sec. pass to back up the hp numbers.
