6500 hesitation

Anyone ever heard of hesitation at around 6k-6.5k? I changed my fuel filter, have 2 k&n filters on the intake pipes. The rest of the car is stock. The clutch has been changed to an ACT street clutch. When driving in either 3rd of 4th gear, and gettin up to 6k, the car almost hits a wall, then it responds back with full power. The delay seems like 1-2 secs. This really sucks when you need the cars full potential. Any ideas on what can be causing this. The last thing that happened was that my battery died. I got it recharged, and now this problem is occuring. I will try to reset the ecu. by unplugging the neg. and holding the break for 60 secs. Also does anyone know if extra grounding straps might solve this problem?

do you have a boost gauge? if so what are you getting when it hesitates? could be fuel cut due to overboosting. had that happen to me and its kinda scary and just like what you describe.

This sounds like overboost fuel cut! Make sure your boost is below about 10psi.

Its kinda weird that hes getting fuel cut with only K&N filters. Try some new spark plugs and see what you come up with.

Sounds Exactly like BOOST Cut - Check for proper WASTEGATE operation

GET A BOOST GUAGE

No such thing as boost cut But yeah, that's fuel cut. I dunno why, but I get it too. Even with a remapped ECU good for 1 bar, I'll hit it every once in a while at 12psi. PFC is next on my list.

The boost guage reads about 10-8-12psi(maybe 13psi). I have to check it @ 6k. If it is overboosting, what solution should i take. Can the wastegate be malfunctioning? The plugs were changed about 2500 miles ago.

Arrow

- Two K&N filters replacing the factory air box.
- ACT street/strip clutch
- Autometer boost guage
everything else is stock
(still have my precat, main cat, and factory exhaust, stock intercooler)
This car is basically factory except for the k&n filters.
Can my fuel pressure regulator be fouled?
The fuel filter was changed, the plugs were changed, about 2500 miles ago. Recently did an oil change too.

yeah, you shouldn't be hitting 12 or 13psi with your car. It should be holding at 10psi. basically the car is protecting itself by hitting fuel cut. as for why you are getting to 12/13 i'm not sure. you can always go to rob robinette's site for the home made boost controller, or pick up something like a profec B, but that will only cover the problem, and not really solve it.

as for the fuel pressure regulator- the stock one is very strong and rarely fails - you'd have different problems if that was bad.

Perhaps your wastegate is sticking and is not opening properly. If you are hitting 12-13 psi, you are definitely hitting fuel-cut -- not good.

Dragueur, if you are hitting "fuel cut" in 1st gear only then most likely that isn't fuel cut but fuel slosh. Try filling up your gas tank and see if it helps.

Gtrx7, if you are getting 12psi after 4500 RPM for any length of time, then you are going to hit fuel cut. You need to make some adjustments and get your boost to about 10psi or below.

Check the wastegate... On my Talon TSi the wastegate was sticking for over a month. I never bothered putting in an aftermarket boost gauge and the stock one is useless, so my dumb *** thought it was just running good for some reason, until I almost blew the engine. :P

Change plugs if you are running colder than stock they don't last to long.
This seems to be a problem on quite a few cars that comes and goes.
Make sure you have proper voltage alt.to batt.
