Get a 7-speed instead. I hear they're one gear better.

because i'm having some problems with the search. plus I figured some one with 6 forward and 1 reverse gears (sorry if I wasn't clear enough) would wan't to talk to me about it, and I could ask more specific questions after finding out who was out their.

BTW, the very first sticky post at the top of the 3rd gen. specific forum is entitled Newbies/Others Please use search / Useful Links **UPDATED**.

If you had read that post first, you would have found the FAQ, and if you had found the FAQ, you would have found that question 21 was...

21) Is a 6 speed transmission an option?

6 speed transmissions are becoming popular with some new cars to improve highway fuel economy. An RX-8 6-speed transmission will not bolt up. Quaife and Greddy offer 6-speed gearsets for the stock transmission case beginning at $5,000. A true sequential 6-speed will cost significantly more. The highest performance FDs run 5 speeds or automatic transmissions designed for drag racing. Many owners will change the differential gear ratio or the ratios of the drive gears.

The wording isn't the best, but basically, the only options for a 6-speed are a sequential gear box costing thousands of dollars, a gear set swap costing thousands of dollars, or a domestic 6-speed (behind a V8), also costing thousands of dollars.

First off jim why did you asume I thought adding another gear would make it better just for the simple fact its an extra gear... I dont think so. Second do You have a 6 speed transmision in your 3rd gen ? Because if not , this thread wasn't directed for you to answer to any way, but I relise you have the freedom to respond to wichever thread you choose and I resect that . Then you go on about the thousands of dollars it will cost another question I wasn't interested in. I know this isn't the lounge and I apologize if my last coment was out of line. Its pretty obviouse that I dont want your help"wich i'm not worthy of", and that we dont like eachother much either so to ovoid this online arguing BS dont reply to my threads anymore.
