Actually, yes he does.... Well, technically I think it's still sitting on the garage floor along with the engine. But seeings how his cradle is finally finished, I can only assume that he'll be bolting it all up soon.

Damn, JimLab helped you and this is what you have to say in return? I agree with the others.. Doesn't look like you will be here long. Just my 2 cents.

The highest performance FDs run 5 speeds or automatic transmissions designed for drag racing. Many owners will change the differential gear ratio or the ratios of the drive gears.

The wording isn't the best, but basically.
I agree. Let's fix it!!

why do you mock his post?

ill answer it as best as i can... greddy (trust) offers a 6 speed gearset for the stock case.. it is about $5000... it would be cool to have because it would probably be stronger than the stock unit... also the parts would be brand new... which would be nice if you needed a rebuild....and it would probably be advantageous to tight courses as far as racing goes, because i think the stock gearing feels a little long, a tighter gear may give the car a better feel, but that would be personal preference

you may also get into boost faster?

i love shifting cars, so i rather have 5 forward gears + 1 overdrive + reverse vs the stock 4 forward + 1 overdrive + reverse...

basically the only negative thing is the cost factor...

i dont know why the locals on here make waste of any post that pertains to it... theres 3 pages of crap on this... i just wish the first couple people could just reply intelligently

Because it's been discussed ad nauseum for years, which is why the subject is listed in the newb stickie so that the subject doesn't get beaten to death (although I guess it already has, judging by the number of posts on it that come up monthly).

The search function is easy to use, and will pull up any info you want as long as you're patient and choose the right key words. Even if there was something wrong, all he'd have to do is use Google or some other search engine and punch up "6-speed FD transmission", and the Greddy unit would've come up, as well as threads from various forums such as this.

I love components that actually provide a performance enhancement, and there's no guarantee that a six-speed tranny in an FD will provide that. Shifting in tight courses (like autocross, and even a dragstrip) takes time, so drivers try to do their laps with as few shifts as possible. The only real problem with the stock five-speed is the overdrive fifth (and its weak synchro) for those who run speeds that high (hopefully only on the track). I could think of a ton of things $6000 could be better spent on for a performance gain...

Because your post didn't give me any reason to assume otherwise.

Second do You have a 6 speed transmision in your 3rd gen ?
I have a Borg Warner M29 T56 6-speed near my 3rd gen. and I know it fits. Close enough.

Then you go on about the thousands of dollars it will cost another question I wasn't interested in.
Then do us the favor of phrasing your questions in a manner such that it is obvious what you are interested in.

Its pretty obviouse that I dont want your help"wich i'm not worthy of",
And pretty obvious that you couldn't spell your way out of a wet paper bag...

and that we dont like eachother much either so to ovoid this online arguing BS dont reply to my threads anymore.
This has nothing to do with "like". This has to do with respect. Prove you're worthy of respect by doing at least the minimum legwork to find an answer to your own question and you'll get respect back.

Oh oh oh can I say it again?

I don't want a 6th forward gear. I just want another gear with a ratio between my current 4th and 5th.........
