500 for a goody which one?

I have around 500 left after my lil mishap. I am stuck between either getting an exhaust or a ks vented hood (vis/ebay). I know the hood will help with the underhood temps but does it help that much to choose it over an exhaust?

Well I know a lil fitment issue will occur, but to know my engine is doing better and not leave my hood open after runs is a +.

Don't get a hood until you can afford to paint it as well.

Read this while you're at it. https://www.rx7club.com/race-car-tech-103/hood-choices-320775/

get an exhaust, a hood wont really do anything except look good. secondly if your car is stock you dont really have to worry about the heat issues just make sure that your not overheating. last if your are worried about running hot get an aluminum radiator ($300) and a good fan upgrade no more than ($150).

Thanks for the link diablone
And about the paint I was planning to do a black and silver scheme like scrub. https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/took-some-late-night-photos-my-silverstone-348145/ and if you pay for the cf might as well floss it =^)

But i'll probably side more towards the exhaust now, thanks.

Bullshit. The stock radiator should be replaced when the plastic end tanks (eventually) break. You will experience NO water temp. changes w/ an aftermarket unit. If you're worried about overheating, do one of the fan mods or install a Miata thermoswitch.

The stock radiator should be replaced BEFORE the plastic ends fail. And they fail in a variety of ways, from the big bang to very tiny leaks that only leak when the system is under pressure.

I'd say if you've got an FD pushing 80k+ miles, definitely consider a radiator as your next "mod". BTW, you will see water temps go down with an aftermarket radiator.

^^^ He has a DP already.

I say save up a tiny bit more and buy the GReddy Ti exhaust. I've heard rave reviews about it and I may even change my SP over to the Ti one. So I say do that. You change the power, looks, and sound of the car all in one mod.
