? 4 everyone. What is the best mod you have made to your car?

Hi fellow forum members..
I have been a longtime forum browser and it seems all I ever read about is who did what to their car. The basic mentality seems to be the bigger the better, the more outlandish the more desirable. This strikes me odd as out of the box the FD is/was such an engineering/design masterpiece. Granted it has it's (few) flaws, but it seems people just bolt on parts without any foresight on the consequences/imbalances they are creating. Do you really need that giant single turbo? Is it really necessary to change the suspension setup on an already legendary handling car?
Don't get me wrong, I'm as guilty as everyone else (see list of mods) What I'd like to hear from everyone is which mod really made a difference and was it properly thought out in respect to engineering.
My mods:
RE V mount intercooler, upgraded radiator, and mini battery, and intake box
street ported
1300 and 800 primary and secondary injectors
Aluminum flywheel and ACT performance clutch
RE trailing arms and toe links, GAB super R struts and Enkei lowering springs
Apexi twin power ignition
Unorthodox lightened pulley set
RE engine torque brace
Hi flow cat and dual tip racing beat catback.
M2 3 inch downpipe
RE Amemiya 17" wheels
Mods I'm still considering (when someone leaves me a big bag of money!):
Big brake kit all the way around
roll bar
Go to a manual steering rack
widefoot swaybar mounts, tripoint front and rear sway bar
Ohlins coilover set up
Axiom harness bar
and probably a few more things...
Obviously this list doesn't include cosmetic "desires"...is it any wonder why we are all broke and single!
It's a sickness. But I love it!

Best Mod: My first Track Day (it changed everything about the way the car "drives")

Seriously though, I often consider little things to be the mods that stand out as the "best".. Like gas charged engine props, or a good elbow rest.. A self-built custom sub box that grabs the strut brace so it doesn't slide around..... Stuff like that.

Speak for yourself! (at least on the second part in my case)

Best engineered pieces: Garfinkle's engine torque brace, Widefoot sway bar mounts

Best mod I've done: Painting the yellow calipers on my car back to black (that or buying my DD explorer). Now when look at my car I think "ahhhh" instead of "ewwww".

best mod: Me! I'm still surprised how I can keep squeezing more speed out of the car, when I think I've found the limit.

99 Front and 99 tails.

I hated the stock form the day i took the car home, always wanted to change it. Well the tails i changed within months (i dont even know nor can remember why it even took that long LOL) and the 99 front just recently (after 4 years of ownership LOL).

Now the car finally looks the way i wanted it to look.

Maybe in the distant future, some rear fender flares, new set of wheels and a new paintjob.

Thats IF nothing goes wrong with my car mechanically. Since that is unlikely, ill prob just do a streetport with a small single instead of the cosmetic mods i just mentioned.

I would say coil-overs. But since I have a mountain of parts to install, and a fresh rebuild (with med street-port) brewing, I imagine that my opinion will be changing soon.

Since a downpipe is technically a "mod" I would have to say getting rid of the OEM POS & replacing it with a SS, Jethot-coated, free-flowing marvel of simplistic engineering...

Since a decent set of tires should be considered maintenance rather than a mod, I'm going to add another vote for downpipe.

I would have to say that my best mod would have to be my PFC. It makes me feel a little safer.

For me, it has to be the PFC and associated mapping.
Because I now feel that I can drive the car without worrying about it lunching itself. It also meant i could actually drive the thing once mods were fitted. Great stuff
