They sold a batch of about 10 factory new 87 spec turbo II engines a while back, and a number of us airplane guys got them. At $2400 delivered to Florida, it was pretty much the deal of the century.
Some of the aircraft guys had RX-7 Specialties modify their engines for more compression, porting, etc, but I didn't. I was planning to run mine with a turbo, but later changed my mind. As an odd quirk of timing, I just shipped mine to Bruce Turrentine this morning for rework since I decided not to use the turbo.
They required a money order up front, but were completely trustworthy when it came to delivery and status updates. I'd have no hesitation about buying a rebuilt engine from them for a car if the price is right.
Cheers,
